Groundhog Day
I could be talking about the day (hey, Jimmie, where's our early spring?), but I'm talking about the movie. I didn't see it until a few years ago. What has stayed with me from the film is the resemblance of my husband's life to the Groundhog Day theme: waking up every day and not realizing all that has come before. I know that the ADHD person's brain often struggles with working memory issues, but I'm going to confess that I just don't believe that my husband is doomed to a life of reinventing his own personal wheel on such issues as time management, to-do lists, medication, and communication techniques. To mix metaphors, he claims to be unhappy with running on his hamster wheel but it looks to me as though he's just afraid to get off.
